UTI steriod dose up stay the same

hi I have a uti on antibiotics do I need to up steroids please. Feel a bit rubbish

I don't - I never think it is serious enough to merit sick day rules.

If it is a flare of PMR I might - but your doc says you don't have PMR doesn't she so how would she react if you took more pred?

Oh OK - sorry, confused you with someone else. Then see how you go - if it is a flare you might well need a bit more but people don't always flare with a UTI.

When you have finished your anti-biotics then you might like to try VSL3 - 54billion good guys to replace the good guys the anti-biotic has knocked for six.

The next time (hopefully never) when you feel the coming on of UTI try this straightaway

1 teaspoonful of bi-carb in as little water as possible, repeat after 3 hours.

l’ve had multiple UTI’s but never enough to put me in bed but pretty much month on month for well oveff to a year. had loads of tests until l had 6months on one course of AntiB’s followed by a 2nd Course of different AntiB’s again for another 6months.

Never in all that time did l increase my Pred or was it ever suggested - the only increase l’ve had for Sick Day Rules was Post Surgery, a couple of Chest Infections (which did put me in bed) and Covid!

tbh uti not bothering me it’s I can nearly move sooo tired. Arm

Legs all Hurt. Might be decreased a few days ago to 8.5 from 9

If you are having pain and stiffness and you have not reduced in the last day or two, when it could be steroid withdrawal, it sounds very much like a flair and you are on too low a level of steroids.

shall I go up to 9 for few days ?

Were you OK on 9? Personally I might go to 10mg for a week then drop back to 9.
