Diagnosed (finally) 2 days ago and started on 15mg Prednisolone. Just wanted to say Thank You to all who post on here and spend time researching and collating. Had very very little interest or info from my GP so what I’ve learned and am learning on here is invaluable.

I am new here too! Symptoms started in July but just diagnosed 8 days ago. Im on 15mg too.

Saw a story on other forum from a man in 2019 who couldn't get any doctors in his area to diagnose him. He could barely walk. That was me. It actually made me cry. I think he has since found treatment.

I'm grateful to belong to a big HMO in the US who had the symptoms of PMR in their database. When my CRP was elevated they were able to make that match.

Good luck to you. We are all on this specially journey together.

I know this sound awful, but sometimes wish a whole heap of GPs would get PMR, just for six months of course.

Oh no - that would just reinforce the less than 2 years myth!

You actually think they have that many 🧠 they would start on 10mg and then reduce quickly and bingo a light bulb might just go on. 😜 cheek (can't find a emoji).

Conversely they might just use the internet for PMR and GCA and we are top of the list. 😈

Off to watch Paddington................

I am the same as yourself, took 4 months to get diagnosed and then only because I was admitted to hospital after a fall. GP useless but hopefully the rheumatologist that I saw in hospital will give me advice that I need and don’t receive from GP. Every good wish to you

And you. I’ve only spoken to my GP, yet to see any consultant, if I don’t get improvement, I guess thsss the next move.
