So as I've written here before what I thought was perhaps a stress fracture in my right hip I have since learned through an MRI that it is not. I have suffered for 15 years with lower back pain and apparently this right hip pain is a result of the spinal stenosis they said I've have. This is bad news because there is no treatment. At least with a stress fracture it would heal and eventually stop hurting. This will never stop hurting and has made it nearly impossible for me to walk. I am quite distraught over this and am not sure what my future looks like. I still have PMR and am treating it with prednisone. I am down to 7.5mg and doing fine with it.

Right hip pain
I am so sorry to hear this. I wonder if someone here has experience with it..and can help!! hope so!!! Glad the taper is going well and not something ELSE to worry about!!
So sorry to hear that - can they offer anything to mitigate the pain? Hugs
Are pain clinics still an option? So sorry to hear about this - don’t give up.
Then you must return until you have relief. 🍀
What about Lumbar decompression surgery is used to treat: spinal stenosis?
The surgeon won't touch me because I also have severe osteoporosis. I've had 7 fractures in my back already. A chiropractor also won't touch me.
hi sorry to hear this I too have something going on with my hip and now it’s started to go into my right ribs too I’ve not been diagnosed with anything apart from gall stones but I think this was a finding on a routine examination the pain is horrible and definitely feels like nerve pain as it radiates throughout my right side ? Have you tried low thc high cbd I use a vape some nights and it numbs the pain ? I’m from uk so our thc has to be under 00.2 so it’s definitely the cbd that’s helping without the head high …..
When I had PMR my hip started hurting. My rheumatologist ignored me and then I found out I had avascular neucrosis — because prednisone cut off the blood supply to the hip, resulting in my hip bone deteriorating. I had to have a hip replacement. Sad.
Hmmm. I asked my doctor if walking would damage anything and she said no. And now I learn that your doctor says yes. This is so frustrating.
Surgery is not an option for me because I have severe osteoporosis. The surgeon said that anything attached to the spine (the vertebrae) would make my bones crumble even more. I've had 6 fractured vertebrae and a fractured sacrum in the last few years.
I had to chuckle because in the second paragraph, last line it says you have to "gin" up the courage for surgery. I would guess gin would help. 😁😁😁
Can you get a second opinion? Also see a physiotherapist, they often know more about limb mechanics than the doctors. Don't give up yet
Those dexa scans are not always very accurate. Or maybe it's the person reading it. I was told that I had osteopenia and then just 2 months later I broke 2 vertebrae by bending over. I had kyphoplasty on those 2 and than broke 4 more. I also fractured my sacrum and a rib at different times. Obviously, the scan was wrong.
So sorry for you. Is there any chance the pain might at least fluctuate?
so sorry you are suffering with this awful pain. Has anyone ever discussed Radiofreqency Ablation (RFA) with you? I have spinal stenosis and debilitating hip pain. I have had RFA on my Sacriliac joints with good results. It lasted about 18 months and now I am on the interminable waiting list to get it done again. I think they can do it on other areas of the spine. I do hope you can get some relief.
