Quite common I’m afraid-Pred makes your skin much less resilient.

You need to moisture is as much as possible -DoubleBase or similar is good - if you’re lucky you may get it on prescription. and protect it as well - loose lightweight clothing.

Oh, ok, thanx, more moisturiser, and I will ask for double base as I have had that before, long time ago for another condition, thanx

My legs look like I have been in a car accident!

It is said that the story of our lives is reflected in our wrinkles-or perhaps I made that up- and now we can say it's reflected in our shins🙂.

That is a thought.

Mine too 🙄

Yep, me too. Sightest knock and huge bruise or spilt skin and bleeds. My nails are serious bad too. Index finger on left hand is dreadful with a thick ridge. I keep my nails short and hope I will eventully cut all the thick ridge out...but it's still there. I'm currently down to 5mg, but fear the old symptoms are creeping back. When I kneel down I struggle to get back up where knees are painful. A little pain in hips and arms too. Before I increase a bit I think I'll request a blood test to check my CRP/ESR. Mine are always high if there is a problem.

Anne if your symptoms are returning, and no wonder really after last few months, then please think seriously about returning to previous dose. If it’s a flare, and sounds suspiciously like it then waiting will just allow it to escalate. Nip it in the bud quickly. You may not want to increase, and fully understand that, but ‘a stitch in time’ and all that!

Hope hubby is stable, preferably improving 🌸

Thanks Sue, I've known for a week I should have returned to 6mg....just the thought of increasing again I suppose. Hubs still in a tremendous amount of pain and said yesterday he thinks it's getting worse. Jen was told by one of her customers, that has MS, and has a lot of other things going on too to ask for a script for Lidocaine Plaster Patches.....she has found them wonderful. I think they have a numbing affect. I requested them from doc the other day he said he can't prescribe these but hospital possibly will. We've received two letters one for the fracture clinic, which is today and the other (where maybe they will be able to prescribe) the Pre-Assessment Team on 23rd of this month. Six months up in January after his femur op, so hoping so much they will operate on the left hip asap so he can at least maybe get around with a walking stick. This is such a miserable life for us both at the moment. Hate complaining though as so many far, far worse off than us. My friend said it's all relative, I beg to differ. Tell that to someone that's gone blind !! Doc did text me with his latest blood test results yesterday. GFR and HBA1C are both really good. Doc said well done.....so something going right for him. If all his levels are good no reason not to get his first hip done. X

Sorry to hear about hubby - as for friend ! No comment….

Glad to see you’ve upped dose -hope it does the trick…

I guess I'll have to wait for a day or two to see if going up by ony 1mg is enough, do hope so. Slight discomfort under my bottom now. Blasted PMR !!

Just to add my support to DL's reply - no hurry, far more important you avoid a flare.

in reply to PMRpro

Yep, I will take another 1mg now.
