Prednisone and CSR - wondering about the connection

Hello -

I have had PMR almost two years currently at 6mg of Pred. A year ago I was diagnosed with CSR central serous retinopathy and was told its common in type A people and will go away in six months.... well didn't go away went to retina specialist who gave me a shot which seemed to help but he mentioned that prednisone causes CSR (and to get off it- haha) which hadn't been mentioned to me by any of my Drs. I haven't seen CSR mentioned here. Wondering if anyone else has this or have heard about Pred causing this. Thanks.

sorry to hear this, found this info on a uk site RNIB - sure there must be an equivalent organisation in US, so maybe have a search - and yes it does say just can be caused by steroids -

If that’s the case then you need to speak to your own doctor/consultant and find out what other options you have to contact your PMR.
