To everyone that has provided advice and support in the short time I’ve been on the PMR feed - thank you. I’ve learned a lot about a poorly known condition that makes the lives of its sufferers very difficult. While I received a preliminary diagnosis of PMR, my symptoms, lack of response to Prednisone and the results of a CT scan reveal I am dealing with something else. As I result I am going to drop off the PMR feed.
I wish you all the very best, and want you all to know that I plan on trying to make more people aware of PMR/GCA.

You don't have to leave - because whatever you have, there will be a lot of commonalities in living with a chronic rheumatic-type condition. But all the best for a correct diagnosis.
Very pleased you've not got PMR but hope you find whatever you're dealing with, less of a challenge and easier to manage. Take care and all the best for the future.
I was originally diagnosed with PMR like you Bun31087. The diagnosis changed to an inflammatory arthritis, but I stayed with forum because, as PMR pro says, there are so many commonalities. I consider my daily email to be really useful, and also it's a comfort to check in with so many helpful, friendly people who have similar issues. I hope that your treatment goes well.
Thanks Ash, I’m still here. I am in awe of the knowledge, strength and suffering of those who suffer from PMR. Unfortunately my recent CT revealed something sinister…….
I'm really very sorry about that Bun31087. I wish for you all of the courage and fortitude that you have admired in others here. I hope that your treatment goes very well and that you have a good support network to help you keep morale high. 'Hang on in there', and hang on in here because there are some lovely people who will say just the right thing to help you keep your chin up if you are ever feeling low. Take care.
