Wish me luck!

Today I’m starting to taper to 1mg. On alternate days. As advised by Rheumy nurse.😬. On 2mg, I have eventually started to have more energy, and some days feel’normal’.( 2 months on 2mg)

Well here we go.🌞

Good luck, but you might find it easier to try 0.5mg reduction initially……it might not sound much but it’s the difference between a 50% reduction and a 25% reduction - which is!

So long as you have white uncoated tablets they can be halved with a pill-cutter.

Just another option….and maybe a slower taper rather than alternate days - but see how you go -

Thanks DL. Good idea, I’ll bear that in mind.

Good luck - but that is still a massive change in dose - 50% from day to day - and many patients find their body protests. Have you considered one of the slowed tapers we talk about a lot on here?

hi all! I’m thrilled to be at a point where I have had good quality of life at 1 mg for a week+. I’ve been following the magic chart and reducing in 1/4 and 1/2 mg increments to get to 1mg.

Any advice for my next 6week dose? I’m worried that the percentage reduction of 1mg to .5mg is really high and I REALLY don’t want to flare and go backwards! Thanks.

Use one of the slowed tapers and repeat each step more than once. Same applies at any point.

what is “one of the slowed tapers” and are you suggesting repeat each weekly cycle two times? Thanks!

DL's given you the link - and repeat as many times as you need to feel comfortable.

Stay at current dose for a bit longer, and then continue as you have been and see how it goes -trying 1/4mg a time. ..and as PMRpro say’s using a slower taper plan.
