I would add when you started Pred and on what dose you started and if you increased significantly at any point, what dates that was too. Any other medication like bone meds etc might be helpful. Then remember to keep it updated!

On the main bracelet I had-

First name , Last name -

“On steroids for GCA”-

Next of kin name

NOK phone number

Didn’t bother with anything else as I always has my current doses etc (updated) with my steroid card in my wallet or phone case.

First one (when hubby was still alive) had My name, my hospital no , my DOB and my home phone and “on steroids- do not stop”.

Amended it after he died.

The most important thing is to say you are on steroids.

Space is limited on my bracelet so I have my full name on line 1, the words 'steroid dependent ' on line 2 and my husband's phone number on line 3 - he can provide any further information needed.

Mine just says medical alert Steroid dependent Taking steroids and I carry my steroid card with all the details on

Mine says "steroid dependent / adrenal insufficiency." I figure I'll always have some kind of ID on me, so that's it.

Mine says Steroid Dependant since 2012: NHS Number My Phone has all Info which can be accessed even with a Locked Screen.

Paramedics know how to access this.

I have My Red Steroid Card in my Purse also.

I may actually get a supplementary disc to attach to my bracelet one of these days….

My GP said the most important thing was to let paramedics know about the long term pred and who I am. So my bracelet has my name, town and "long term prednisolone". Like MrsNails, I have more info on my phone which emergency responders can access even with a locked screen.

Medicalert phoned me and discussed what I should put on my bracelet. I have too may conditions/meds to fit them all on. They put their phone number and your member number on it so that in an emergency, someone can phone them to find out your details, doses etc. You fill all this in when you register with them.

Engraved on my bracelet I have my full name, ON STEROIDS, and ICE (in case of emergency) with my husband’s mobile number. My bracelet has a lift up section where inside I have a folded piece of paper with all my other medications and doses. I just have to make sure I don’t get it wet!

I put on mine:

polymyalgia rheumatica

<dose> mg Prednisone @ 8:30 am

So mine says exactly

polymyalgia rheumatica

1.25 mg Prednisone @ 8:30 AM

I use a Brother label maker, 8pt Font. As my dose changes I peel off the label and replace with updated label.

My logic is as follows:

I always have ID on me, so name, address, birthdate are redundant information.

The label tells them my condition. The dose I’m on AND the time I last took it.

Mine says “prednisone” on first line and “PMR” on second line (no room for much else). As others have mentioned I have additional emergency info (GP, emergency contacts, etc) on my phone which can be accessed by first responders.

My husband's ID has NKA (which means No Known Allergies.) We are told that is crucial info because in the US, at least, you can't be treated until they know you are not allergic to anything - or what you are allergic to.
