Yesterday while removing the contact lens in my right eye my finger seized up and I managed to scratch my eye. I immediately got bleeding in the white part of my eye, I don’t think I scratched the cornea, thank goodness.
I called in to the on call opthamologist last night. He said I’d be having more pain if the cornea had been scratched and advised putting my eye drops for dry eye in the refrigerator and using them every two hours to help the veins. He didn’t think I’d need to be seen unless it got worse.
Today it’s just kind of sore and looks like there’s a little more bleeding.
Any idea how long I’ll look like a horror movie character ? He said the blood will eventually be absorbed.

So you are ready for Halloween? Scary looking...but as the wise ones have said, it should clear up in a week or so. I have GCA and for a while my left eye would do that periodically. Wouldn't life be simple if everything was cleared that easily?💕 take care!
My husband got a speck of metal stuck in his eye. After the ophthalmologist removed it he put in a contact lens to cover it just like a bandaid. He also used the dry eye type eye drops. BTW I find the eye drops are so much more soothing when they are cold.
I have lost a bit of sensation in my left eye and not always sure if the drops have gone in. Dry eye bod advised putting drops in the fridge - it does work!
