Having had severe reactions with two of my three Covid jabs (Phizer), I was feeling anxious about needing my second booster. I cleared my schedule and bravely marched into the pharmacy for the injection. This time, I opted for Moderna brand.
So, bravely waiting for the sore shoulder, fluey symptoms, etc., I had none of them!
It's been a week now...I feel great! Congratulating myself for getting booster on schedule. Looking forward to spring/Summer traveling and stuff.
Just sayin...Jerri

It's such a joy isn't it, when something goes well and has a positive outcome. 😀 Really pleased your vaccination caused you no unpleasant reactions this time. Happy days.
Had 2 x Moderna, then Pfizer and had the second Pfizer last Friday - 2nd Moderna I had a flare. Nothing notable with the first Pfizer and this one I had a small spot on the bicep where the needle went in that was sore for a couple of days. But that was all. Was very relieved to have had a 4th - there was no guarantee I would get one here, not over 80, not really considered CEV so I wandered into the centre and smiled sweetly. The nice lady doctor didn't blink - done and dusted
So pleased to hear this. I'm not so brave. When i started with PMR a year ago it was 3 days after the first AZ jab. I spent the next 16 weeks alone and in pain fighting to get help. The memory of this is still burnt into my brain. I have spent the last 12 months isolating with a fear of the remaining jabs and possible flare. I did catch Covid 7 days ago but luckily managing it. Its not something i recommend going unvaccinated but the leap of faith (having been unsupported) was too much for me.
This virus isnt going away and i will eventually have to have more jabs.
At the moment i am nourishing my body with good foods and rest in the hope i get the vaccine.
I am delighted you have had your jabs. Well done x.
My PMR appeared immediately after my first (AZ) jab early last year. I have not let this stop me having more jabs (2nd AZ, a Pfizer then two Moderna) and I have not suffered any ill effects from any of them, apart from a sore arm.
I do understand that - but it could have been a wide range of other things that would have triggered a "waiting in the wings PMR". Including getting Covid. Or some other illness, vaccine or experience that stressed the immune system. It just so hapened the Covid vaccine was the culprit.
Yes i agree. It could have been anything waiting to set it off. I am now left with a situation of do i or dont i. My pmr is finely balanced atm and i am actually doing ok, for which i am grateful, and i wont know whether i sail through a jab or not. My plan is to build myself up, take a run and jump, and then go for it. I have no choice long term as its not going away and if i want to enjoy life again and travel vaccines are needed.
I can relate to your experience with pain, and feeling like you were unsupported. In my early years, I had plenty of spouse support, but my doctor situation was lame. I relied heavily on people from this forum, and feel like my entire PMR education has come from them and their reporting on research as it was hot off the press. (Or so it seemed). As for Covid, I had the vaccine, with PMR flares after two of the jabs. Then I got Covid , although I did not need hospital. My PMR is almost 10 years old, and prednisone dose hovers at 5 mg.
Good luck to you, stay connected here, this group is a lifeline.
I got my fourth jab last week. All good. The first one triggered this miserable illness. Oh well life can always be worse. I am lucky I have a disease that is treatable 😊
