I hope this is helpful for those at the beginning of their PMR journey.

Rheumy talks about PMR
Thanks for this …some good points, but
Yet another Rheumy who quotes the 2year scenario as being the norm, and those who fall outside that timeframe as being ‘a few’…not sure how true that actually is…..if this forum is anything to go by.
Plus why doesn't it occur to them than regular flaring doesn’t need to be par for the course…..if they let patients take a steady taper, flares won’t be that common.
Prof Sarah Mackie says 25% need pred really long term.
Yes, but she’s a sensible one….😊
She has also learned a lot from us and follows up when we point something out that we have found rather than just dismissing the patient opinion.
As I said sensible, and happy to listen…if only there were more like her.
I know at least 2 - Longtimer's guy and mine. There are a few more but they are few and far between
It would be great if Prof Mackie would do her version on You Tube..
I was searching and revising a bit as I want to do a Vlog on You Tube about PMR.
I've spent a few months there swearing, pissing people off and being outrageous. I also do some more serious informational vlogs.
If you can point me to some that are better informed that would be great.
Hello by the way
😜
Thanks for the link. Very good review. Good to have alternative viewpoints.
Thank you for posting this! I’ve had PMR for six months and can’t get to a rheumatologist till may! My GP has helped me a lot though
