I certainly wouldn't go to 15 - far too big a drop in one. But I also think you need to be sure you are stable and the symptoms comfortable. And then start your tapering process from scratch - starting with 17.5mg and see how you do with that. You are still being impatient - yes, sometimes it does take longer.

Is there no way to bring that phone call forward?

I would stay at 20mg for another couple of days….then you could reduce to 17.5 for 5-7 days, then down to 15mg provided all okay at that dose.

But as you seem to flare quite easily you probably need to discuss with doctor.

I am in the same position as you put on 20mg for a week then supposed to drop 5mg a week I found the 5mg drop too much and all the pain was back I have now started reducing again very slowly got down to 17.5 then dropping 1mg every few days I’m on 14 now and it seems to be working for me my rheumatologist is happy for me to do it my way he said I know my body better maybe this will help you I’m not in a rush after the horrible couple of months I have had it’s worth a try ! Good luck

Who on earth said to drop 5mg PER WEEK if you have a diagnosis of PMR? I do despair sometimes ...
