When I had PMR a few years ago I tapered and came off pred with the slow stop type thing and managed well ( obviously took ages) This time when my Pmr has been entirety different my ESR is 25 and my CRPis 2 so I have got down to 7 mgs. However I feel awful most of the time - no particular pain but hungry and then quite dithery. I also always feel if I have a cold, I have done numerous LFT whan I go to a meeting of my chorus and I dohave my 4th ( booster) this week. I amd wondering if feeliong like this has anything to do with adrenals not kicking in. I am quite stressed though trying to look after my husband who has COPD and thinks there is nothing wrong with me ( he did last time too)
Thank you I would be grateful for any thoughts. I only get in touch with my doctor to ask for blood tests! - again the same as last time!

I'd put it down to adrenals and the stress of caring for your husband. I needed a lot more pred to cope - and while mine did keep saying to the community nurses I wasn't up to caring for him alone because of my own health. he didn't appear to take that into consideration in his demands of my time and energy! Since he died, I have been able to reduce the dose - still well more than you are on but it is the PMR that is the limiting factor now.
