It's easier than getting your teeth cleaned, and you'll be amazed by your new view of the world in just a few hours. Follow all the instructions regarding recovery - don't rub your eyes, take your drops, wear sunnies outdoors, and take it a little easy for a couple of days.
Cataract surgery is a modern miracle.
They say in India they used to take a cataract out with a thorn and it took four seconds!

They didn't - before intraoccular lenses they just removed the totally opaque "ripe" lens and the patient wore bottle bottom specs ...

Did you ever read 84 Charing Cross Road by Helen Hanff, a fabulous book? She mentions having cataracts and then having the special glasses. Worth a read.
