Hello, there’s very little information to go on to get a handle on what you mean. Where near the collar bone? Just one side? How big are we talking here? Does it hurt? Did it develop suddenly? Any colours or textures that are different? What did the nurse suggest, given that she thought it was not a normal Pred fat deposit?

Hi it’s only on the right side and definitely not sore , feels soft to touch .

soft lump but it’s definitely raised.

As SnazzyD rightly says, more info would help…a picture would probably help her as well.

If you mean at centre front there are other posts about this. Lots of people seem to have a lump and I found a photo.

I thought it was caused with the prednisolone but it appeared about two months ago and I’m way down on my preds to 6mg that’s the lowest I have gotten to since starting methotrexate injections.

Maybe it is just that surrounding fat deposits or swelling have gone away and now you can see that?

Best thing to do if it is worrying you, When do you return to winter?

Don't blame you! I keep looking at the UK weather forecast and shuddering! No desire to spend the winter in that thank you very much - summer is bad enough! It isn't quite your temperatures but I bet the sunshine here can give Dubai a run for its money! Are you in the north or south in the UK?

I’m in Glasgow absolutely miserable and the dampness definitely doesn’t help with pmr or TMJ if that’s what it is still not got to the bottom of that one yet , there is definitely something to be said about living in the sunshine because I haven’t felt half as bad being over here .

It was wet enough when we were students in Dundee 50 years ago and I swear it is worse now. One daughter is outside Edinburgh - I could cope with living there but not the weather!

The weather in Germany passes that in England this year. Never known a year like it. Grey, windy, cold and wet wet wet! Wonderful!?! It sure has affected my PMR and, more-so, my already aggressive arthritis.🥶🥴

Saw a progamme last night that claimed the weather in the Whitby area was like that in Germany - a vineyard outside Robin Hood's Bay is growing German grape varietals as a result ...

Quite a few vineyards have been affected terribly this year. Floods all over the place - years and years of "good" wine spoiled in the cellars.

It’s vile here at the moment.

Tad parky here - -11C this morning and struggled to make -3C early afternoon - but sunny and very few clouds and no wind so a walk round the village wasn't unpleasant. Tomorrow is to be cloudier, might even be a few snowflakes. Then back to sun and cold. It being so bright makes such a difference and the lying snow helps. Sounds crackers but the odd day of cloud and precipitation isn't really unwelcome.

I think the word you’re looking for could be “pispotical “!

Apologies to those of a delicate disposition.

Definitely a good idea, could be a one sided fat deposit, but you’ve got lymph nodes there, blood vessels, bone and muscle. As PMRPro says, the previous fatty deposits may have gone with dose lowering and exposed this. I know you know we can’t diagnose but it’s always a thought isn’t it that maybe about 20 people will pipe up saying, “I’ve got one of those, it’s a 6mg thingy”. Good luck.

Thank you for all your help let’s see what the doctor says , I wish all the other fat deposits would go that came with prednisolone 🤦‍♀️🤣🤣

There have been posts in the past about what are most likely fatty deposits above the collarbone and they CAN be due to pred. But more details needed really.

I have one on right side two inches below collar bone. Because that takes it near the top of my breast, it was scanned & well looked into! Just a lump, pure & simple, quite benign & happy! I have no pain in it. Worth having any lump checked I think, but try not to worry! Enjoy the sun while you can!

I have slight swellings/ fatty deposits just above my collar bone particularly on the right and have been wondering what they might be. Also no discomfort. As I'm just off my pred dosage after 3 1/2 years, I'll check whether they disappear in the next few months.

I have it too; it’s on my left side only. Had recent chest exams which showed nothing abnormal. I’m on 13 mgm.
