1 yr today

Hi all, this time last yr, I was diagnosed and have been on pred 1 yr today started on 15mg now down to 5mg. It been a yr of ups and downs, (more downs than up) lots of tears feeling sorry for myself, worrying about every little pain, headache etc that was different or I'd not had before. So just want to say thank you for all of your support replying to my what I thought was silly questions and put my mind at rest, or advice when needed. Thank you I really appreciate it. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

No question is silly - because they were a problem for you ...

Let’s hope for more ups next year…although not in Pred terms obviously..🤣😂

Hope not, one day at a time

That’s all we can do, with PMR, GCA, or life in general….

Every single person on here has something they can offer someone else at some point....that's whats so special about this forum. It's our 'safe place'. We all have our ups and downs and that's why we know how someone else might be feeling. Like you, I feel so thankful and grateful for everyone here who supports and helps me when I need it. ❤️

And a merry Christmas to you also. As for the new year, as you say, one day at a time. I'm grateful I'm still here. As I said to a neighbour who, like me, was collecting a box of free rapid test kits from the local test site, it's good we're still here and able complain about the situation!

❤️ It's good to have a moan sometimes and let it all out especially when the moan is shared with a friend and often ends up with both of us laughing 😂😂

No such thing as a silly question. In some way, although we are all different, we all understand. Some help with real professional expertise, some help with experience and some with words of encouragement or support. It all helps us through this up and down journey. I wish you a Happy Christmas 🎄 and a better New Year.

Just what I thought..& I know I won’t have time on Saturday!

Well draft it beforehand in word or whatever, and then post on Saturday, whilst you’re having your “morning tipple” pre lunch, or when everyone else is asleep after lunch. 😊

It’s our fourth Christmas shielding (I shield every winter since I was told to due to lung issues), the previous Christmases we were normal & I was sick for 6-8 weeks each time. There won’t be anybody else! I just thought a day without Facebook & emails would be nice on Christmas Day, that’s all.

Quite agree about screen free!

Each week it tells me how long I spend on the screen each day, & it’s increased so much since Covid..mainly due to having to order absolutely everything online! So I bought a new laptop, as old one 12 years old, & have spent 3 days trying to move the ‘stuff’ to the new one…& failing miserably! One last chance, then I phone the tech folk! S xx

Doesn’t your new laptop have to option to transfer all your old files over, mine did when I got it a couple of year ago…easy peasy.

Or are you using a USB?

I'm thinking this is the way of the future. Even my stupid Iittle tablet sometimes seems to know a password I haven't entered, and this morning the browser told me I had last visited a certain page a couple of months before I had to send my laptop for repair (hinge broke when I was closing it and crushed corner of touch screen). So it seems Google knows my history, no matter which device I use, provided I'm logged into my account. Don't know if this is really a good thing but it's certainly convenient.

Yes, it does..& each day it seems to work & is busy doing it, but it never ever quite makes it (even after 16 hours)…but it follows all the right instructions…all goes well, but it never quite makes the transfer! Heh ho, onwards!

Ahh,…..that’s frustrating 🤔

I quit often say to myself "don't open your ipad today". Unfortunately it 'pings' every now and again and I just have to have a quick look. Two hours later I might manage to put it down!😏👵🏻

You've made amazing progress. Thanks for the "silly" questions, they help all of us gain a better understanding and some reassurance on the many aspects of PMR we encounter from time to time.Hope you continue with your steady recovery in the new year.
