Please get yr eye test

Hi all, this has nothing to do with pmr or pred or any medication. My mum had her normal routine eye test monday last wk and optician found a spot behind her eye so 2 days ago monday she was booked in to liverpool hospital 4hrs away from where we live to see a specialist yesterday she had it removed and yes it turns out to be cancer so now lots of chemo/radiotherapy, my point is she had no symptoms didn't even think she needed new glasses, so please please please please dont put off yr eye test it really not worth it

An important warning indeed. Hope all goes well. Liverpool has good reputation for cancer in and around the eye. A friend lost one eye but the other was saved and her aftercare was great. Similar distance for travel - well worth it.

So sorry to read this regarding your mum, it must have been a huge shock , I hope her treatment goes well and is successful. This is a wake up call for us all, we must not become complacent. Please let us know how she is doing, I am sure everyone on here sends her their love and support.
