Vomiting & Prednisolone dosage

Hi,

I’ve been ill through the night with a tummy bug. I’m normally on 2.5mg Prednisolone. Do I need to increase that today please….assuming I can keep it down?!

I would think only if the bug lasts a few days - are you sure it is "just" a tummy bug and not Covid or something else? If it is plain pred, you only need to keep it down for an hour or so until it is absorbed. But if you can't then you may well need medical advice since you don't know if your adrenal function is able to cope.

Thanks. I’ve taken my normal dose & managed to keep it down so fingers crossed! I’m in Morocco so hoping I’ve just eaten something dodgy!

This happened to me when I was on a slightly higher dose. First off, I had no PMR symptoms and it was fatigue and general unwell feeling, headache, etc., which reminded me I had not taken pred the second day when I was recovering from the short lived sickness, having probably not absorbed much pred the first day. I just took a regular dose when I remembered and was fine afterwards.
