All a bit of a mystery to me! The whole steroid issues of symptoms. ! Drives me up the wall !! So dizzy this morning!!!
Dizzy drives me nuts feels like a dream that you don’t wake up from. I feel constantly stoned. And I’m definitely not
People who haven’t had it don’t understand!!!! That’s why this online is good! Though not always reassuring! I’m 83… is the rest of my life going to be on steroids??? Dizzy ? Etcetc
Some medications can cause dry mouth. I have found chewing sugar free gum can help
PMRPro recommended a product that has solved this for me, especially overnight. XyliMelts. You stick a little tablet to your upper side tooth ( incisor). It sticks very securely. Gradually it dissolves and keeps your mouth lubricated all night. Magic! I got it on-line from Amazon, there are other stockists. Make sure you are well hydrated as well. I drink lots of water. I don’t know what causes this side effect. It didn’t start immediately with me.
At one point I had a very dry mouth and dry eyes which was thought might be Sjogrens syndrome. My dentist refered me to the local dental hospital who gave me all sorts of useful things for dry mouth such as sprays, SLS-free toothpaste, saliva stimulating pastilles etc. It just disappeared eventually and mysteriously.
Hi, How strange, I thought this was just me, it must be part of GCA/PMR.
I wake up with a terrible dry mouth, and throughout the day my mouth gets very dry, I also have dry eyes which causes blurry vision, I have eye drops but it doesn’t do a lot, last about 10 seconds and the I’m back to blurry vision.
If anyone has an answer please let me know.
Xx
I have the blurry eyes too. I might try drops. It’s so blooming annoying you think you combat one thing then another x
It may be "just" sicca (dry) syndrome which often accompanies autoimmune disorders. There is also Sjogrens syndrome, an autoimmune complaint in its own right and which has identifiable antibodies, otherwise the symptoms and management are much the same for both.
