Nodules

I have small painful nodules about 6 of them ( half pea size ) in a line on my forearm , and up under my arm , but not in my arm pit. Same on other arm but less . And a few on my mid thigh. These have been developing over the past year . Was wondering if any of you PMR sufferers have any such things. Going to ask my Drs opinion.

Never heard of that, a first for me. When you have discussed with GP asap let us (well me really as I am a curious sort of person) hopefully it will just be one of those things that happen and not serious.

Someone will be along who knows more than me.

This is a matter for your GP or a dermatologist. I don’t think it is typically associated with PMR/GCA or Prednisalone. I have not come across it before.

They are most likely to be cysts. I have a lot of lumps that have appeared in my arms during PMR, some are bigger than pea size. In my case I am told they are lipomas.

Yes I was thinking that may be lipomas. See what Dr says

And how did the doctor explain their presence?

Did he say what they were?

No said he couldn’t feel anything. I felt embarrassed. Because they were really sore to touch .

I have a small lump on my leg which is incredibly painful to touch. Apparently it is a sebaceous cyst according to the guy who did the ultra sound on it. My GP said it was a Haemangioma.

My tiny nodules have no pigmentation, but are sore

You cannot see the one on my leg either. The only reason people really knew where it was is because I screamed when they touched it!

Just been reading about fibromyalgia tigger points . As I have these really tender spots that are only a 1/2 centimetre diameter. The Dr did say a few years back that as my CRP and ESR were normal for over a few years that I may now be suffering from fibro. But could not give any diagnosis one way or other. To be honest , I can’t be bothered anymore. I just want to live my life the best I can. And I feel my best staying on 5 mgs pred.

I think I agree with you.

So odd to have some strange, weird thing not associated with PMG or pred. 😉 Seriously, you never know what it's going to be next with this stuff. Good to hear your GP could put your mind at ease.

Funny , I have what sounds just the same on my Rt lower forearm. 3 ‘nodules’ in a line. I can hardly see them but can feel them . If by mistake I knock my arm on something hard like a table or doorway the pain is really acute. I haven’t mentioned them to GP or Rheumatologist as most of the time they don’t bother me . I’m pleased I’m not alone, Avadip!

I too have painful spots on my left arm that hurt if I lay my arm on a table and put pressure on it. Haven't mentioned it to my dr yet.

Additionally, me thinks it could be related to recent PAD diagnosis.
