Try FAQs initially - a lot of work has gone into creating -
or type subject into search option.
If your post has a relevant title it will bring up related posts. For example “pain in arm”
You can look at the FAQs, you can look at the Related Posts - but to get relevant Related Posts listed you have to have used a related search term in the title of your post. HU's internal search engine is very poor and I find using google including HealthUnlocked in the search often works better. It isn't helped by woolly titles on posts - especially Update - there are probably hundreds of posts with Update in the title. Being more specific abou t your question does help.
Your question doesn't make sense t me - arm and toes? Do you just mean your arm has pain, or is it your leg or is it all down your right side?
Lol sorry from top of arm down leg to toes. It feels like trapped nerve. But like it’s electric alive. When I first stand it’s agony
It possibly is a trapped nerve - something to ask the GP. I had pain in my feet when first standing but that was without pred, after a few months on pred that tenosynovitis in hands and feet improved and eventually went away.
Shall I just stick with 17,5 prednisone am tapering going down to 12.5 Friday
Do you really mean you are reducing from 17.5mg to 12.5mg in one go?
I see you did have a flare- but this might be too big a step considering you are having issues.
I thought if you think you had flare and on 12.5 go to 20mg then if it’s not go back to original dose within week. I read on here. I’m having a super confused day
Some people can drop back to just above dose where flare happened…but not everybody.
Two points…you need to be on the increased dose long enough to get the flare under control - so 7-10 days…..
..and sometimes it’s best to drop in 2 stages, staying on the interim dose for a couple of weeks.
Your issue seems to be you weren’t sure whether it was a flare or not….and I’m sorry we can’t answer that for you…we can only advise what to do IF it a flare.
If you still have issues we can’t answer you need to seek medical advice.
Same question as DL - you don't REALLY mean 17.5 to 12.5 in one go do you?
I was going back down to where I was ok only been on 17.5 for few days. Or shall I not not sure if I had flare so went up no difference so was going back down I was originally on 12,5 then up to 20 for 4 days then down to 17.5 now looking to get back to 12.5. Please advise
Oh OK in that case. But really - it is far better to reduce slowly and in small steps, staying at the new dose for 3 or 4 weeks to be sure it is still enough than to dot about from one dose to another, Whatever some doctors think, staying at the starting dose for 4 to 6 weeks is a better foundation than rushing down the doses.
I put ‘adrenals’ into the search field yesterday & got so much great information! It’s not so obvious in your case, but ‘pain in arm’ perhaps. It may be that what you have is not related to PMR/GCA and therefore unlikely to bring up any info? S x
