Omeprazole and Lansoprazole

I noticed on a friend's Omeprazole leaflet in her box of tablets that you can now take these with food, whereas the Lansoprazole leaflet for my tablets says to take half an hour before food. I thought these two types of tablets were pretty much the same before reading this!

Can I ask this question, do you suffer from stomach problems with taking pred or where they an add-on.

Read the side effects leaflet in both, but specifically in the Omna...........

The PIL for Omeprazole is with or without food and it doesn't mention anything about a time lag before taking other medication.

I took Omeprazole for two years, but had a problem with it, so changed to Lansoprazole, which is absolutely fine. I was just querying why they were to be taken one with food and the other not as I thought they were pretty much the same.
