Bursitis of hip
Possibly - and not necessarily!
I would be heading for A&E in the hope of getting an x-ray to be sure it isn't anything else. Negative results are sometimes as welcome as positive ones! Or your GP may be able to refer you to a walk-in x-ray, some hospitals have an on-demand service. for cases like this.
I assume you are being forced to rest and are you icing?
Ouch! I would have it X Rayed. Our age group can be so unforgiving of accidents. I imagine that your GP would refer you so you don’t have to sit about in A&E. The last thing you want is some form of arthritis to set in - even though your assessment may well be correct. Good luck!
Try standing on the one leg. If it is not possible it is probably bursitis
When I had a similar problem, I found out the hard way that struggling to walk with whatever it is leads to much more pain and swelling! Then I started using a cane and learned how to avoid most of that, at least so far!Wishing you have fast recovery!
