I had such a good experience with my rheumy department. When I was referred I could choose three fairly local sites. The one I picked had the shortest waiting list, and now I know why! I had my initial appointment with a very caring consultant who efficiently arranged bloods, xrays and scans. As soon as the results were in the specialist nurse rang me, which was last Thursday. I have been having terrible pain and had to up the pred from 6mg to 10mg. She was so understanding and got the fact we have to have a quality of life. The pain was so bad I could cheerfully have amputated my feet! Any way she requested I have a baseline blood test, which I had that afternoon. She said when she gets the results on Friday she will ping the prescription for sulfasalazine to pharmacy who will deliver to my home address next week! Hows that for service?! When I had my blood taken the nurse asked which department I was from, and she said' Oh yes, rheumatology are so efficient here ' Boy do I feel lucky!

Hope things ease for you, but I was surprised you had Sulfasalazine prescribed, this is not mentioned much on here. My sister takes it for RA, do you have that as well?.....
