Hi all, me again. Have been on 4mgs pred for year now, resisted tapering further as moving house but now tried 3.5 on dsns method. Neck and shoulders scream at me immediately and it takes the rest of the days on 4 to stop them. Second try, same again. Do I accept 4mgs or is this adrenal as pain reaction immediate - pm when dropped am. And to think I wanted to kayak!! Thank you to all.

DSNS Taper
I would give it a few months and try again. I found that I noticed the change of dose for the first 3 or 4 times but it DIDN'T take a few days to improve - the next day at old dose I was OK. The fact it takes so long seems a red flag - how many days are you leaving it between new doses?
6 days old dose, 1 day new followed by 5 days old dose, one day new followed by panic, post to healthunlocked!!
So even at 5 days old dose, you weren't recovering? One thing you could try if you really feel up to it is take one day of new dose and then see how long it takes to get back to normal. And how big a step is there between old and new dose?
Difference is 0.5 mgs. It appears to take about 4 days to recover when back on old dose (4 mgs). Could still be a level of stress involved, covid 3 jab tomorrow, first telephone conversation with new gp, 99 year old mother's cataract operation, the list goes on..... life, I think they call it! Much appreciate your input, always there when I shout🌻
