Have you had a dexascan? The bone profile on its own doesn't mean a lot unless it is abnormal - and then the abnormal levels need to be investigated.

yes dexascan abnormal.
u didnt actually answer my question tho. what do u mean if bone profile results are abnormal? I said in my question that they're not.
I was seeking more information as to whether your dexascan was abnormal - and you didn't say that, you asked why you'd been put on risendronate when the bone profile was normal. If you have low bone density according to the dexascan you have been put on risendronate to prevent it getting worse while on pred and hopefully also increase the bone density. The bone profile will have been done to help identify reasons for your bone density being low as there are various reasons that can underlie it and some can be sorted out.
Do you have any bone pain pain or stiffness in your joints? As PMRpro says, there may be something lurking in the background. Did your doctor not explain why he/she wants to prescribe Risedronate?
