Recent research on alternative PMR treatment to prednisolone

Hi everyone, Someone recently posted a link to a recent clinical trial on alternative treatment for PMR to prednisolone. I can't find the link. Does anyone still have the link? Thanks so much.

Avacopan was mentioned on the Vasculitis forum as an alternative to steroids. They were asking for people to report Prednisalone side effects. This was the first I had heard of this drug. You can still find it on that forum.

But I don't think it will apply for us because the mechanism for avacopan's effect isn't relevant in PMR.

I have to say, I'm not sure i see rituximab as much of an improvement on pred!!!

Well Dr Mackie seemed happy enough to share it & it’s to be discussed at Journal Club & Prof Dasgupta says it’s hope for Relapsing PMR Patients…..

Oh yes - I'm sure it is but it is one of the drugs that prevented any development of immunity with a Covid vaccine
