Hi anyone use CBD oil here I know it’s not legal everywhere! I never even knew we had a cannilboiled system. It’s extremely good for sleep pain and anxiety. It’s not cheap but definitely works I sleep approx 9-10 hours a night
I’m on prednisone.

Hi there Uglow. Cannabidiol, or CBD oil as it's more commonly known, is sold, used and perfectly legal in the UK as its derived from the part of the plant that doesn't make users high and has no psychoactive effect.... unlike THC (Tetrahydrocanabinol) that does. We can buy it in a range of forms....oil, gummies, balm.....in high street stores but does tend to be quite expensive. I actually buy little tins of the balm to put topically on my shoulders, neck, forehead etc, when I have head pain. Definitely eases discomfort for me.
Yes I know it’s legal here Iv been using for 5 years. I but on line super stench
I tried it but not helpful ! I know people who swear by it! Great if it works for you !
Yes, I think it's very much an individual thing whether CBD works for you or not. I have a friend for whom it's changed her life by significantly helping to reduce her anxiety levels. Some of this may be psychological but if her general state of mind has improved and she feels more relaxed, then that's really all that matters! Another friend felt her purchase had been a complete waste of money and didn't relieve her foot pain at all. We all have our own personal little anecdotes for all the various ailments we seem to encounter and it's good to share them just in case they work for someone else too.
I use a couple of drops once or twice a week - for me, I definitely think it helps sleep. My 95 year old mother says the same.
I’m confused. If it has no psychoactive effects why eat gummies?
CBD doesn't have the intoxicating effects of THC that results in cognitive alterations (euphoria) or withdrawal effects but it is believed to work in a way that effects mood and perception, so in the sense that it is still acting on the central nervous system it could be perceived to still be psychoactive, but not quite in the way we all normally think.
It seems it's mainly used for easing anxiety, stress, pain, depression etc and 'gummies' are just an alternative way of delivering the active ingredients.
Maybe not the right place to ask this question?! I posted it already somewhere but can’t find it!!! Has anyone noticed swelling in their mouth since being on pred? I wake up with it.. and nasty taste…
Unlikely to be seen in the middle of an existing thread - people don't bother to read what has already been said which accounts for the repeating of identical comments or questions.
You may possibly have thrush, might be worth asking your GP if you can have a Mouth SwabAlso drink plenty of water after taking your Pred & eat Live Natural Greek Yogurt.
Kind Regards
MrsN
Thank you. I did reply but must have pressed the wrong button! I’m being very stupid on this forum! Still can’t find my away around properly! Anyway I hadn’t thought of thrush… but you are probably right! I always need reminding about drinking lots of water! I do have organic goat kefir every day.. wonderful Chuckling Goat.
Will ask GP.. when I can next get hold of one!
Onwards!!!
If you look at the Related Posts (to the right on a computer, scroll down on a phone) you will find a load of posts about using it.
So far I have come across very few for whom it works for the PMR itself but people do find it helps other things.
The CBD oil you are talking about is still illegal in UK where most people on this forum live. There may be some people living in places in the US where it is legal or elsewhere.
It’s not illegal
Where is it illegal in uk coz Iv never heard that
I was talking about the medical marijuana, containing THC, which is mainly illegal in UK. Are you talking about CBD with or without THC?
It is still 'illegal' in Northern Ireland, where the politicians are still more interested in their historical ambitions (i.e. a United Ireland)than the health of their voters. We have the largest waiting lists for diagnosis, admission to consultants or even GPs; pain treatment, urgent surgery, or any other professional assistance, than in any other part of the UK.
CBD works on the same receptor as prednison. I used it before my PMR diagnoses and discontinued once I was put on 20 mg pred in May 2020. Now I am on 3mg and still no more using CBD.
Legal in Canada, as you say, also expensive, but it does work, matter of finding the right amount for your body
