Update on "it was a pred increase I needed" from 13 days ago

I went up to 15mg from 10mg for 6 days and felt so much better. After 6 days I dropped down to 11mg which is where I last felt well (advice from you great folk on here) instead of 10mg. I drew myself a time line of what dose I'd been on for how long and it showed I had done 15mg for 6 weeks, 12.5mg for 6 weeks then 11mg for only 3 weeks before dropping to 10mg. Maybe this was why I was so rough at 10mg?

Anyway I'm staying on 11mg for at least 4 weeks this time - already 8 days in. I have sore upper arms but not unbearable so I'm going to persevere. Who's going to stop me? No-one gets in touch! I just order my pred. I'm not seeing the rheumatologist until the end of September (with the results of all my bloods, chest xray, Chest and abdo CT scan, dexascan).

One thing I do need to remind myself is the amount of stress I'm under at the moment so be mindful that my aches and pains may be that in part. I am still waiting to hear if they have granted my deferred NHS pension (applied May and keep being told any day now) and its a year yesterday since my sister died.

Thanks for all your continued posts and support, I learn so much every day.

x

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better…but just monitor your arms, and certainly don’t let them get any worse…..anniversaries of bereavement are difficult ….Hubby’s last week ..and although it was 8 years it’s still painful.

Hopefully good news on pension soon.🌸
