Hi I am on 11mg of pred and I was on 10mg and my esr had gone from 39 to 36 but I was still having thigh and back pains so that’s why I went up to 11mg even tho the esr had decreased ..I am still having thigh pains 2 weeks in on 11mg.... do u think I should increase now or wait another 2 weeks? 🤔

Tayzee, I looked at your profile but it does not say when you were diagnosed and what you dose you started on 20mg or 15mg?

It helps to fill in your profile- following on from where you put your name then it makes it easier to answer your question.

Thank you it is so helpful.

Can I direct to look at the Tapering Steroids at the right hand side of the page. Both DSNS and DL's do work and they do slow down the rate so you could print them off and perhaps discuss the plans with your GP. If he agrees fine, if not , remember your body, your pain, your decision. PMR is a long haul not a race at all.

PMRpro has given you the answer to bursitis, which I know nothing about and could not have helped.

Slow is the way to go.

Right hand side under Pinned Posts. - sub heading Topics.

Dead Slow Nearly Stop. And Dorset Lady's slow taper.

Under those Pinned Posts, there is also Some Useful Abbreviations often used on this forum (UK).

I should have realised you had not using the forum for long. Sorry.

They may take a while- it may be bursitis that takes longer to go. But to be fair, that ESR could do with being lower if possible. When will your GP check the bloods again?

He’s checking it every month
