Can you meet safely during the pandemic?

This questionnaire arrived in my inbox a few minutes ago and it takes about ten minutes to complete. I feel there is one flaw, as it only asks for age of oldest person in attendance, not the youngest. Otherwise it may provide a fairly good assessment of current risks for individuals.

Yes, I did it with an upcoming family gathering in mind. Turned out the assessment considers risk low, but then I live in a place with very low covid at moment, no known community transmission, and no adults are invited who aren't fully vaccinated, athough there will be children present. I had surmised the risk would be moderate!

I’ve saved the link, it’s low risk meeting others at stable yard-atleast for Covid! Bad Hoss! but humerus healing beautifully 😂. I feel happier meeting my lovely slightly older neighbour inside now too. Windows open. Thanks HeronNS , this is useful, - hope things are going ok with you x

Yes, touch wood. A year with really bad (injured) knees has evolved into living with slightly annoying osteoarthritis, but at least the ability to walk briskly again, although not as far as I used to, not yet! Did you have a riding accident?

After just been diagnosed with seronegative inflammatory arthritis plus PMR and feeling great on a bit higher Pred I came off the ponio (she’s 19 and should know better, like me!) at speed on tarmac and fractured my proximal humerus end of May. Natural healing and good ROM - don’t think it’s a fragility fracture! But never had dexascan. Back in saddle but don’t tell husband 🤫 Just started (3 doses) of MTX and absolutely fine- still think it’s the raised dose of prednisolone (5mg now) that’s made such a difference to my well-being. I think it’s mainly PMR going on but my knees and wrists don’t hurt now x

Very ouchy at the time, it made me feel very old and very vulnerable sadly. Unfortunately carnage at our stable yard since with youngsters falling off - on soft surfaces! 3 others with 4 fractures between them, they are on the mend too. l got off lightly though husband not amused. Horses 🐎!!!xxx

Yikes! I watched some of the Olympic equestrian events (after the fact on my computer). Never been a rider, but love watching horses and people riding them. One of the most interesting human/animal relationships, I think.

Blimey , I think we may have mentioned dressage 4 years ago, and the ladies beach volleyball (husbands!) I have been living vicariously with telly sport for months. All good wishes x actually it would be 5 years ago! X

Tongue in cheek. As the virus is, mainly, airborne, could leaving windows and doors open actually blow it in, and or, any brought in by an infected person being blown all around the rooms?

Thanks, it was interesting. My ‘fictitious’ meeting with elderly aunt was classed low, though I thought moderate! But she has diabetes, high blood pressure & currently quite poorly, & I don’t think there was a question about the health of the person you’d like to visit, as it’s more aimed at groups of people meeting up, which is understandable! We are both vulnerable ourselves (husband & I), but still low risk. When we really think it’s safe to see her, & she’s a bit better in health, I will do the questionnaires again, it’s helpful, thanks! S x
