PMR QUESTION

Managed to ween off of prednisone over a month ago and on the suggestions of the forum here did not use the celebrex to do so, but then started feeling achy and ended up on celebrex for two weeks but the stomach pain became so intense I had to stop. A friend suggested naproxen, but it is still a NSAID, so suspect that won't be much better than celebrex and neither one is okay long term. I am fine if I take an Aleve (arthitis medication) but then it really lowers my blood pressure. Any thoughts?

If 1mg of pred is enough to keep that at bay - that would be my choice. Far fewer adverse effects than any NSAID.

You know Aleve is Naproxen, You need to be careful with Aleve, just as you would Naproxen.

Thanks, I have discovered it better the devil you know and suspect when I see my doctor I will go back onto a low dose of prednisone…

I agree with ambassador. I am stuck on 2mg pred and feeling well. A bit stiff early morning, but it wears off. A few loosening exercises help.
