Could this be a PMR flare? Or Biologic infusion issue?

Hello everyone.

Having been settled on 3mg Pred for many months - other than a short couple of increases whilst in hospital for Crohns (sick day rules) I noticed that my right arm muscle felt very achy today whilst going through my kitchen cupboards and chucking my out of date stuff - as you do! I had spices BBE 2013. How time flies! This effort would not normally have troubled me at all.

To complicate matters, I have had two loading doses of a biologic (Infliximab infusions) to try to get my Crohns into remission.

Do you think I should be increasing my steroid dose short or long term? I did wonder if it was to do with the infusions but feels so like PMR - but not bilateral.

Any advice welcome.

Are muscle aches listed as a side effect of infliximab? My arms are achy at present - too much thundery weather! But mine are both side - are you sure you didn't get a bit enthusiastic with something else physical?

I can’t see anything about muscle pain - only obliquely on a website but most not listing it. As it’s an infusion, I have been given a fact sheet and it’s not listed on there. As for being enthusiastic about something else physical, all I can say is, I wish!! 😂

Maybe it is the thundery weather. I’ll go with that idea for now and keep a close eye.

Exactly - me neither! But the point is even little things can cause sore muscles when you have PMR!
