Gosh that was complicated. I had to look up Gilbert’s Syndrome on Wikipedia. It looks like you should avoid paracetamol ( Tylenol)) because you can’t metabolise it - has your doctor told you that? It looks like the diet we recommend for PMR and GCA is also good for this relatively harmless condition. So avoid processed foods, sugar and have a very low carb diet. Diets on the internet recommended for type 2 diabetes would be good - there is loads on there. If this condition is causing symptoms, advice from your own doctor is needed, including lifestyle advice. I live and learn.
Thanks Jane 🥰 wish I was still on pred ,felt 20 years younger 😊
Yes sent me a report after an hospital stay for various problems, didn’t know about paracetamol tho 😱 take them quite a bit for Arthritis
I got that from the Wikipedia entry. Snazzy says that it’s ok but perhaps not the maximum dose. I knew that they put a strain on your liver. I would check with your own doctor to be on the safe side.
I do keep them to a minimum, but did not mention trying to balance,it withDiverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, narrowing of the bile ducts .
Otherwise I’m fine .most of the foods I used to love is now a no no ,one example CHEESE 😿love it all .
Thanks gang your doing a fantastic job on here hope your all not too poorly to really enjoy life 🥰😘😘😘
Hi Jane not easy maintaining low carbs when trying to avoid meat as it doesn’t seem to agree too much with me. Absolutely agree with no processed foods. Years ago my good wife used to make
This gorgeous chicken chesur. Sorce out of a packet, absolutely creast me, all sorts of addictive, thay know how to make things tasty.
Sos. about spelling, never mastered it 😂😂
Keep talking the tablets
Ron 😘
My daughter was diagnosed with Gilbert’s Syndrome about twenty years ago when she was a young teenager. I remember the exhaustion and she felt so ill all of the time. I tried to give her a healthy diet, cutting down in the sugary and fatty stuff. As she got older she could not tolerate alcohol very much at all. Although that didn’t stop her at times lol. She has learned to live with it and avoid triggers that make it worse.
Good luck…
My daughter was diagnosed when she was little and she’s now 20. There isn’t any particular diet but they say you shouldn’t do fast or go on a crash diet and also don’t get dehydrated because these increase the bilirubin in the blood even more. You can take drugs like paracetamol but perhaps not push the maximum dose level.

says the usual: a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and veg. Avoid fasting and very low calorie diets and - of course - alcohol ...
OTOH - you appear to be taking one cause seriously - overexertion!
