Very encouraging thanks. Have cataracts but not develpoed enough for surgery. Hopefully with tapering will be down to 8 or less by end of year.

Thanks so much. My op was 13th now cancelled until 20th this month but reassuring to know. I'm now down to 9mgs so we are virtually the same. Thanks to you and everyone on the forum

I had my second cataract operation last week and taking 8.5 mg of prednisolone - no problems just relief to have it done.

Snap! I had my consultation Friday and having op on Wednesday! No problem with steroids either. Good luck!

I had my op 6 weeks ago and I still have a dark crescent in the side in my vision. I was told it might go away and nothing could be done. Very upsetting.

Sorry to hear that. Did they give you any reason it happened?

Nope. Just said it might go away after settling down. Not very encouraging. I also many dots which are called floaters.

Thank you. I have read this link before and fully understand all about ND but just frustrated that this has happened and there’s no solution.

The article offers a few suggestions i though - to some extent it is the same as a new pair of glasses that have heavier or smaller frames than you are used to.

At 6 weeks or so I had the same and one day I realised it had gone! I understand it is quite common . It's early days.

Thank you Rosebud! Such a relief for me to hear your experience. It’s taken the pressure off me to try and reduce further before my forthcoming appointment ! X

Just for info. I was on 15 mg when I had my cataracts done. Really wonderful vision afterwards . Would really recommend having done if needed. 💐x

I had both eyes done last Wednesday . My son collected me afterwards and it was like driving through thick fog on the way home. Next morning vision was clear as a bell. In fact distance vision is clearer than it was with glasses but I do need reading glasses. As a temporary measure till I see the optician I bought three pairs of Amazon for £2.37!!!
