PMR Recurrence?

I was on prednisone for three years for PMR. I have been off prednisone for one year and feel like my symptoms are coming back. My main complaint is not muscle pain but overwhelming fatigue and loss of appetite. Could I be having a recurrence?

Have you had a recent vaccine? I think a range of blood tests are in order eg CRP and ESR, blood glucose, vit D deficiency, iron levels, possibly see if your Adrenal function is ok. Good luck!

Thanks......I recently had a COVID vaccine.

It just seems to have been a trigger for the return of PMR symptoms for a handful of people I have heard about.

You could yes - I have a couple of friends who had second episodes of PMR a few years after the first had resolved. Both are off pred - must be several years now.

But you do need to speak to your GP to discuss the overwhelming fatigue as there are multiple causes of that and they need to be ruled out too.

I would definitely get that checked out because I have also been off of prednisone now for 3 years and everyday I also hope that PMR does not come back. Maybe it could be as simple as taking a vitaminGood luck
