Raised CRP and fall

Hi,

Another quick question- where would we be without this site? 🤪 probably! I had a nasty tumble over a large garden pot the day before I had blood tests and I have a raised crp -25. Last time it was 20, previously 10 before a flare and I was wondering if the fall could have affected the crp level ( ESR not back yet). I am very sore but I need reassurance please.

Thank you very much.

It could - but a fall is also enough to lead to your developing a flare! However - if it had been 10, rose to 20 and is even higher now, that really is a signal that SOMETHING was already going on before the flare. All sorts of things can lead to a raised CRP, chest problems especially, so the crucial question is: Have you got any symptoms of the PMR flaring?

No, not before the fall but I think I was living with an unnecessary level of pain because as soon as I increased from 6.5 to 8 ( after increased inflammatory markers) I felt invincible!!!! Till........ I stupidly fell! I have a GP call booked for next week and she’s really great so until then- a gin is required!!!!!
