Hello Linny3
When you say natural progesterone what do you mean?
In the UK, progesterone is used as a protector for the lining of the uterus in conjunction with HRT and I believe you need both oestrogen and progesterone for bone protection.
Topical Progesterone (creams) is very unreliable in terms of dose and isn't licensed.
I gather use of progesterone has been shown to help build bone in pre-menopausal women with menstrual problems - but not sure what the case is for post-menopausal women who are also low on oestrogen as it is thought the synergy is important.
Years ago I used a progesterone cream I got with a prescription thru an apothecary. AT that time it was used for pre-menstrual syndrome and it worked very well. I have been reading about it possibly being a help for bone building. I don't want to overlook anything that may help in my quest for a natural way to build bone. Unfortunately, I don't have a dr. just now who would prescribe it for me. Going to ask the rheumatologist this week but am not holding a lot of hope that she will do it for me.
Hi, do you mean the progesterone cream? (It used to be called Progest I think). A friend of mine used it and it did wonders for her bone density. This was about 20 years ago though (at the time it was quite popular due to a Dr Lee who wrote about oestrogen dominance and the need for progesterone.....) I don't know if you can still get hold of it.
