It may be only a coincidence, but while tapering from 2.5 to 2 mg Prednisone, I also had my two Pfizer Covid vaccines and experienced a flare of my PMR. I increased the dose to 5mg for a few days, and am still trying to find a comfort level. 2.5 is now not enough. Did anyone else experience a flare after the shots?

Covid Vaccine and PMR Flare??
I did fishing nut, the flare occured about two weeks after pfizer jab. It was different to a usual flare for me but in the night. It felt like a flare but had strange pains in parts of body not associated with PMR, but I put the pred up by 5 mg from 3mg for about 6 days by reducing to5mg for 2 days then 4 for 1 day and then just went back to 3mg. However I am wondering it it was a flare or something else. Just don't know but have had sporatic pains ever since. Going to see a physio in the morning to see if he can 'shed some light' on it.
If you look at the related posts to the right you will see a few about the same thing.
Someone posted earlier that her (very good) rheumy thinks her current problems are a vaccine-related flare.
I haven't flared after either jab but the fatigue after the second Moderna jab is unbelievable! But - preferable to Covid ...
Hi,
Yes I had a flare up just over a week after my first Pfizer jab. rheumatologist advised to increase my steroids from 10mg (my normal dose) to 12mg. I had my second jab 10 days ago, headaches, exhaustion and widespread pain, also one gland in neck is enlarged. Hence resting until it settles. Hope you soon feel better.
Hi there, my first jab with Pfizer was a week ago. Had a flare and felt pretty low. It is slowly easing. Good to know that I am not the only one.
