Gum infection

I have had a gum infection and have had to have a tooth with no decay pulled although I thoroughly clean teeth twice a day, floss and use interdental brushes and visit hygienist every six months. Does anyone know if this might be linked to PMR, 10 years on prednisolone or stress (bereavement)? Don't know where I'm going wrong!

Morning! I have exactly the same problem. No matter how well I look after my teeth, I have no end of trouble. I believe it is the Prednisolone - my dentist agrees. Recently splashed out on Gengigel Mouthwash and believe it helps - but too soon to be totally sure.

Pred can increase the likelihood of developing gum problems and that often results in tooth problems, On the other hand - I've been on pred for 11 years and have had next to no dental problems - a root treatment and ceramic inlay a few years ago and one tooth in particular tends to trap food in the gap and I get inflammation there. But not only do I have few problems, I make few trips to the dentist and even fewer to the hygienist and to be honest, I think that is why ...
