Pred timing

Is it better to take Medrol at nighttime inside the time release capsules or in the morning? I had been taking at nighttime and after watching Dr Sarah Mackie’s recent lecture I have changed it to the morning. But am feeling stiffer and a bit more achy. She states that taking the prednisone in the morning was best for lessening adrenal suppression.

So I am in a bit of a conundrum. Any thoughts ?

It does depend on what dose you are on - adrenal function is not a consideration above 10mg, it is enough to suppress it whatever time you take it. Below 10mg the lower you get the more adrenal function is a factor. But I still maintain that taking it inside time release capsules won't affect the adrenal gland production of cortisol - as long as the steroid is delivered after midnight, the trigger will function.

I am currently at 8 mg. Good to know. Felt better taking it encapsulated at night for sure and will be happy to go back to that method. As always, appreciate your time and expertise.
