Covid 19 Pfizer jab and side effects

Called in by our surgery on Saturday for jab, all efficiently arranged re-spacing, 15 min.wait after jab. I have GCA and PMR and I'm down to 9mg pred. had no time to think about any adjustment to pred. dose, just very grateful to be offered much sooner than expected. Some side effects the next day: sore arm, chills but no fever, felt unwell, headachy and muscle stiffness so slept for most of the day, now day 2 feel almost back to 'normal' (i.e. with PMR) and managed a brief walk. Just thought I'd share this with the forum as some folk seem nervous (as I was). God bless those clever scientists!

Me too on Saturday, Pfizer, but just the sore arm. I was really pleased as on 8 mg and did not expect any immune response! I am staying on 8 mg for two more weeks as I don’t want another flare.

I was talking to my American Nurse Friend over the weekend & she said some ‘Reaction’ indicates your body is starting to respond to the Vaccine & to take it as a good sign.

Most people l know who’ve had it (none PMR/GCA) all said they were tired the following day so just took it easy.....

Glad you’ve got yours 🙏🏼

Keep Safe & Well

And they say the second jab has more effect - so rejoice!

Interestingly, our sons friends, married, one a doctor one a dentist, had different vaccines given to them. The wife (dentist) was given Pfizer ,the husband (doctor) was given Astra Zeneca. The wife had a sore arm and tiredness the next day, the doctor husband had no reactions whatsoever!
