Two nights ago he had a really bad session and hurt my left hand.
Across the knuckles is swollen and fingers are stiff BUT my other hand is now suffering too and my upper arms. Would upping my Preds help? I am currently down to 10mg.
Doctors are closed. It all seems muscular.

My husband has been banished to the spare room as part of our COVID measures. I miss him and feel lonely sometimes but it’s practical at the moment. My insomnia is quite bad and I am up and down in the night and he is a loud snorer. I fear that this would be a better solution for you than taking more steroid. Perhaps it is he that should be seeking remedies and treatment.
Thanks for your swift reply. He has sought treatment and has sleep apnoea equipment. These episodes are so very infrequent. We are waiting for doctors to open tomorrow.
Moving into the spare room is not practicable; it is upstairs.
We have a dorma bungalow designed with a downstairs bedroom with wet room ensuite. Neither of us can negotiate stairs easily, me because of arthritis in the spine from a fracture there, plus the PMR and him because he is in his 80's and has mobility and heart problems.
Moving room does not take away the pain I am in right now.
In that case, as with any injury, the doctor will probably advise that you up your Prednisalone dose a little bit. I hope paracetamol helps you in the mean time. I hope a practical solution can be found for you both.Best wishes Jane.
Bit of a long shot, but do you have any Epsom Salts or lavender/tea tree oil to swish in a bowl of warm water and soak you poor hands in? It may reduce the bruising a little. Also, good idea to keep your hands raised a little when you're resting.
