Are blood tests totally accurate for PMR!
I still suffer from the usual aches and pains i.e. shoulder, neck, upper arms, lower back, fatigue that diagnosed me with PMR in FEB 2017 if anything in recent weeks I feel worse yet both my doctor and recently visited Rhemy say my bloods DO NOT show inflamation asscoatiated with PMR.
Note I am on 6mg Pen.

Yes, I was first diagnosed in 2017 based on bloods intially taken due to pain in shoulders, neck, arms and general fatigue, started on I think 15mg Pred, now on 6. My condition if anything is worse now. Carl x
Then the chances are that 6mg simply isn't enough.
I agree but my doctor is resisting upping my dose due to the report from the hospital specialist this after bloods and probe scan coming back saying PMR is not present and treating me for rhmetism. I still believe this based on how I feel which is the same as when first diagnosed PMR in 2017 it is and prob need to up my Pred to at least 10mg.

I do wish they would understand they can't say that - there is nothing that identifies it definitively. I told Sarah Mackie, never mind messing about with trying out different medications - first of all, find a definitive marker.
20% of patients never show blood abnormalities at all. Symptoms rule as regards treatment.
No - symptoms always trump blood results. Some people don't mount the inflammatory response while on pred even if their bloods were raised before diagnosis and up to 1 in 5 dont have markers outside normal range in the first place, although that doesn't mean they aren't raised for them. There has to be enough inflammation for long enough for the liver to produce the proteins that make the numbers go up.
