Does anyone experience pain from the neck going up the side of head without pain but with tightness and with a sort of wining/buzzing? Almost dulling my hearing .

I had similar pain in the back and side of my head but I don't remember any soundtrack except tinnitus. The pain was referred pain because tight shoulder muscles were irritating the nerves and the neck muscles were also tightening to try to protect themselves. I suffer with myofascial pain syndrome and that is probably the main culprit but it is also more common in patients with PMR.

I have been experiencing the same type of pain from the neck & shooting up the side of the left side of my head when I sleep on my right side. If I sleep on my left side I don't get that pain.

That sounds very like a nerve getting trapped in a particular position.
