Hi I have pain like a stabbing ache on my back as above. If I press on it it’s extremely sore. Is this a PMR thing pls, I’ve had it for 3 months now and chest X-ray and CAT scan show nothing sinister. Thanks

Bilateral pain just below scapulas.
What makes it worse or better?
Much more likely to be myofascial pain syndrome which is more common in patients with PMR - they are caused by the same inflammatory substances but in PMR they are systemic and in MPS found in the muscle fascia (the transparent skin that covers the muscles, familiar from joints of meat or poultry) or in the form of knots of hardened inflamed muscle fibres in certain muscles called trigger points.
I find it improves some at higher doses of pred (for obvious reasons) but more targeted therapies are better - including manual approaches and injection techniques.

Wow. Thanks that’s very interesting 🤔
It's something I am all too familiar with!!! Should have included this maybe?
