Taper dosage plan

Hi All,

I have been following the taper plan from this group page. Starting with 1 day new dose, 6 days old dose, etc. In my case the old dose is 10 mills of Pred, new dose of 9 mill.

I have just completed 1 day old dose ( 10m) and 6 days new dose (9m) Am I right in thinking I now continue on with a new dose of 8m and the 6 days of 9m, and so on for the next phase. Thus far the results have been good, and fingers crossed no flares. Thanks ahead of time, this group has been a blessing.

Yes if you are happy - but you can always have a couple of weeks at 9mg to be sure.

I started yesterday to reduce from 5mg per day to 4mg. I plan to daily alternate between these doses for a week, and then take the 5mg dose every third day for another week, and then try 4mg daily for three months before looking to go down to 3mg per day on a similar plan. My consultant is supportive of this approach after trying to get me to reduce a little too quickly before, which led to something of a relapse. I hope it runs smoothly for you.
