THE USE OF ABBREVIATIONS

Whilst I understand how they can become part and parcel of the "lingo" (language) they are not of much help to newbies (newcomers) such as I, and so may I respecfully request that posters might just add the meaning in the brackets as above, and which will greatly assist our understanding of all the good advice on here.

Note: As I was typing this message, I happened to looked across the screen and there in black and white under "Tips for great content" was "Avoid abbreviations so newbies can follow along." and so my apologies in adavance for trying to re-invent the wheel!

I hope you find this helpful but if you get frustrated with anything you don’t understand, please ask.

Some of us have had this condition for such a long time that it’s so easy to fall into using abbreviations.

A good tip for Everyone is to use the Full Word in the Title of the Post then refer to it by its abbreviation in the body of the post.

eg Methotrexate - MTX

Kind Regards

PS If you can’t open the link, it’s on the right hand side under Pinned Posts

I’m using my phone & it doesn’t always copy Links when I’m using the App.....

Very often you will find out what an abbreviation means by looking further back in the thread - because that is what we are talking about.

It's even more difficult if you are messaging teenagers - they have a completely (secret) language.
