rheumatologist in south west?

I am learning so much from reading all your posts, but would really like to see a rheumatologist who specialises in PMR, especially since my doctor is not absolutely sure that this is my cause of my problems. Does anyone know whether there is someone like this in the Devon/Cornwall/Somerset area?

Then click on Southwest and the details for contact. The group is very active and was one of the first to set-up.

Contact the group who meet in Truro. I belonged before I moved house. They are very knowledgeable about the rheumatologists there.

Hi I am a member of the Truro based group, our organiser is away from home presently with ill health & I’m not sure you will get an immediate reply. Do you live in Cornwall? Wendy Morrison is our regional organiser & I am sure she would send you a link to our Zoom meeting (joint with Taunton) on 3rd November. Rheumatology is now based in central Truro (see royal Cornwall hospital website which lists the consultants). I see Dr Endean & have heard good reports of Dr Rabbitts. The details of local groups is under “In Your Area”on the website. Let me know if I can help more or perhaps you need a Devon based doctor?

Thank you very much Pollyanna. I would happily travel to Outer Mongolia to find support! We live in Devon but are planning a trip to Cornwall (via Truro) in mid December. I would love to be part of the Zoom meeting; I assume I can find Wendy's contact details on the PMRGCA website? The main thing seems to be to find a knowledgeable consultant, which is why I haven't yet asked my GP for a referral.

I see Dr Webber at Weston Hospital. He is very kind and listens to my concerns.

I have had PMR/GCA since Nov 2016. Now on 10.5 Pred.
