Risedronate reaction

This week I’ve taken my first dose of risedronate, prescribed by my rheumy for a recent diagnosis of osteoporosis. The next day I began to have symptoms of cystitis. I couldn’t see any other reason for this so put it down to the risedronate. They continued so I got some medication from the pharmacist who said it could be that the ph level of ?? was altered. Is this a common reaction? It isn’t mentioned in the list of possible side effects. Has anyone else had this happen? And does it go on recurring? Any information welcome!

Bladder pain, frequency, UTIs and painful or difficult urination are all mentioned by the Mayo clinic in their article:

Thanks that PMRpro. I see its mentioned at the end of the long list of side effects so perhaps less common. I’m hoping it’s just an immediate first time reaction and it won’t continue.
